Team Kids Notice: Please Read
Save your children from nightmares and monitor the powerful media images arriving constantly from earthquake and tsunami devastation in Japan. The power of media can virtually bring this tragedy to your child's emotional backyard. It's impossible to preview flow of media and kids don't have the developmental capacity to process these violent, terrifying images.
A colleague and Media Expert, Christine Honeyman shared a shocking fact following 9-11, that young children don’t understand instant replay. So many thought these traumatic videos of planes slamming into buildings, happened over and over again! Please find time to watch coverage when your children are at school, asleep, or involved in other activities.
Experts suggest talking to your child, possibly using print media to explain, reassuring your children with family emergency plans if they are worried, and provide an opportunity to empower your child to help make a difference.

ABC7 LemonAID after Katrina Hurricane
"LemonAID is a proven strategy to mobilize our compassionate young leaders,” said Julie Hudash, Team Kids founder and CEO. “Children acutely feel the pain of others and instinctively want to help. LemonAID was created as a way to support the victims of Hurricane Katrina. Since 2005, kids have raised and donated more than $45,000 to charity through hosting LemonAID, in response to Katrina, the Indonesian Tsunami, the Santiago Wildfires in California, and the earthquake in Haiti.”
